At Our Core

IPTN Logo

Leading the Movement for Food-First Health
The Institute for Personalized Therapeutic Nutrition (IPTN) is Canada’s first charitable organization dedicated to advancing evidence-based, personalized therapeutic nutrition. We serve as a catalyst for change, rapidly moving research into practice through professional training, leadership, and community engagement.

Our work began in response to a critical challenge: the alarming rise of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes in Canada and worldwide. These conditions do not have to be lifelong or progressive. Through therapeutic nutrition, we offer hope and real solutions.

Guided by three core purposes, we strive to:

  • Increase awareness of therapeutic nutrition as a treatment for chronic disease.

  • Train health professionals to integrate it effectively into clinical care.

  • Collaborate with researchers to strengthen evidence and optimize its use.

Together, we are closing the gap between science and practice and empowering people to reclaim their health through food.

Connecting With Our Community

Part of our mission at IPTN is to accelerate the integration of therapeutic nutrition into clinical practice. We do this by fostering a vibrant ecosystem of knowledge sharing, collaborative research, and practical resources that support healthcare professionals in transforming patient care.

What began as a small group of passionate practitioners has evolved into a thriving network of over 2,300 healthcare professionals. IPTN's Community of Practice is a dynamic space where members connect, ask questions, share insights, and collaborate on real-world cases. It’s more than a simple, moderated forum—it’s a catalyst for change, helping clinicians apply nutrition-based therapies with informed confidence and impact.
